It's almost time for the last feeding of the day! This afternoon I got some better pictures of the growing kittens, I finally got a good flash for my camera. It really made a difference! The kittens are about two weeks old now.

I've put the pictures in a gallery on my website, so you don't have to worry about a flood of huge pictures if you click the link, but you can view a slideshow of them if you like in the gallery.

See the pictures!

~bombards his kitten-wibbling friend with these and watches him go all oogy~

You have no idea how much I love that you do this--the fostering, I mean, not the pictures. It makes me heartsick every time I hear about (or see) animals who have been neglected without a home or proper care, who often die for lack of someone like you. I've been thinking about getting into fostering myself, as I'd likely be able to give young litters the attention they need since I work from home and can keep an eye on them all day. I just don't know what the local SPCA's policy on it is, plus I have to worry about how Hikaru will deal with it and how Chathra will handle it, as he's poorly socialized (to anyone but us) despite my efforts and still freaks out from the abuse he took as a kitten.

Thank you! Fostering is a big commitment, and it does require that you be able to separate your current pet from the fosters, for both the health and safety of all the animals. We have spent many weeks with a large cage in our livingroom/basement that took up a lot of room and definitely was an eyesore. Both of us are also very much doting foster moms, and I'm not sure that it would work out unless Hikaru was very supportive. Sometimes after you're exhausted from a day where the kittens have been sick and you've had to clean up after them and you're worried, and just want sympathy, you need someone who won't be saying "I told you so". :)

So don't feel bad if you aren't in a situation to foster. But if you can do it, go for it!

I thought Gesthen was naming him after Orlando the actor or Orlando the city, but apparently there's Orlando the Marmalade Cat who starred in children's books starting in the 30's! Gesthen's mom probably named her cat after that Orlando. I'd never heard of him!

Awww...and here I thought you both named him after the city, and i was all like "A FLORIDA KITTY, KEWL".

Oh well. Didn't know about the Orlando cat out of the 30's! Learn something new every day. :)

They are SO CUTE! :D Thanks for posting pics, and bless you for taking such good care of them. What an adorable little bunch. I'm glad these little guys are getting a chance (would love to light someone on fire for sticking them there to begin with but I'm sure you've heard that one a lot from people).

This might almost be too much cute to stand! :D

Thank you!

Oh, I have thought of many creative ways to punish those people myself, and I still enjoy hearing more. :)

They've started actually seeing things now and rolling over on their backs to look at us... OMG the cute factor is only increasing! :)
